Items to bring

  • Water - the weather is unpredictable but there is always the chance it will be on the warmer side. I highly recommend bringing your own water to stay hydrated.
  • Sunscreen - definitely apply this 15 minutes before our session and double check that there's no white residue in the mirror
  • An umbrella - in the past Burnside has been able to supply these but don't count on their being enough for everyone who plans to attend
  • Hand towels- You might want to wipe of that sweat in between shot locations
  • Baby wipes - This is to wipe of any smudges
  • A brush and / or comb - This is to fix your hair before / during our session in case the wind picks up
  • Sunglasses - you may choose to have some fun pictures with sunglasses to complete that fun, summer aesthetic
  • Shoes you don't mind getting dirty in - the ground is exclusively dirt which can ruin your nice shoes! Sunflowers are taller so it's unlikely we'll get too many photos of your feet anyways
  • A summer hat - It's always a good call to bring props and hats really cement the vibe and keep the sun out of your eyes

CLOTHING ITEMS TO AVOID

  • Anything black - it will attract heat and also blend in to the darker areas of the field. Use dark brown as a substitute if you prefer.
  • Wearing too many patterns - Simple stripe patterns are fine as well as florals. Try to avoid having every person wear patterns as they can risk clashing
  • Items with large logos - unless you're trying to sponsor a particular brand, logos can be distracting from the overall image
  • Open toed shoes - the dirt will be everywhere!
