On the steps of the Library of COngress...

Manuela & Henry self-officiated their marriage June 15th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones underneath a blue sky. The bride and groom chose to wed before this iconic building's facade because of their strong ties to DC and their wish to do a small, yet elegant wedding where loved ones could attend before their larger destination wedding later on. This was my second time working with this couple after their beautiful proposal at the Kennedy Center earlier this year.

The Ceremony

As the bride arrived, I had the family and friends gather in one uniform line to I could have a clean shot of the ceremony. This also allowed for some dramatic shadows on the ground leading up to the bride and groom. Their vows were sweet and heartfelt, going over their past, present, and futures together.

Group Portraits

After a few minutes of hugs and kisses for those in attendance, I then called up the various groups and posed them before the front-facing exterior of the Library of Congress. The sun was pretty much directly in their eyeline, but luckily, many of them wore shades.

Couples Portraits

As their family & friends left us for a celebratory dinner, the bride and groom stayed behind just a little longer to capture some breathtaking shots at the Library and The US Capitol before rejoining them. My goal with this particular session was to capture both the wide shots to set the stage, as well as the more detailed images to paint the full picture. Their white and beige tones accentuated the surrounding scene, playing seamlessly into one another for some truly spectacular photographs.
